Genetic Counseling

Genetic counseling is the act of helping people to understand and to adapt to the medical, psychological and familial consequences of a particular genetic condition.

This event is essential before and after any genetic testing to ensure that the patient (or their relatives and / or legal representatives) understands the genetic testing procedure as well as its utility, limitations, advantages and disadvantages. Only after receiving the correct genetic counseling, a patient (or its relatives) must decide, in complete freedom, whether to undergo genetic testing and must give its written consent for that purpose.

At qGenomics, we are have enough skills to provide all kinds of help and detailed information to the genetic counselors so that they feel comfortable with the challenges posed by new technologies for genetic analysis. We also have our own specialists and team of collaborators to provide the appropriate genetic counseling when necessary.
